The Academic Planning Unit is considered to be the “HEART” of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun. It was established in March 2011 with two staff: A Director, Professor J. A. Adepoju and an Academic Planning Officer II. In 2012, two more Academic Planning Officers II were employed and in 2014, fifteen staff were added to the Unit to efficiently improve on the duties and responsibilities. Professor I. C. Ajuwa, served as the Director from 2017 to 2018. Dr. G. I. Alaminiokuma is presently, the Acting Director of the Unit. The Unit facilitates the processes and procedures of all planning and control efforts of the University and it is directly responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the Unit. The Unit assists and advises the Vice Chancellor and Senate on all issues relating to Academic Planning of the University including Students and Staff Development Programmes.
