The Academic Planning Unit was established in March 2011 with only two staff, which include the Director and an Academic Planning Officer II. Thereafter, in 2012, two Academic Planning Officers were employed and in 2014 fifteen staff were added to the Unit to efficiently improve on the duties and responsibilities.
The Unit facilitates the process and procedures of all planning and control efforts of the University and it is directly responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the Unit. It is headed by a Professor as the Director. The Unit assists and advises the Vice Chancellor and Senate on all issues relating to Academic Planning of the University including Staff Development programmes.
The Unit is further structured into four sub-units to include, Data Collection & Analysis Sub-Unit, Academic Resource Planning Sub-Unit, Accreditation & Strategic Planning Sub-Unit and Budget & Administration Sub-Unit.
