In response to the power crisis of Nigeria, the University has successfully designed and fabricated an air-powered generator for household use. The device which has an output capacity of 1.5KVA uses an initial alternating current input to compress air to generate electricity. Though undergoing further development and improvement, the device has won several awards including the most innovative product award at the 17th International HSE Biennial Conference in the Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria at Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos, between 28-30 November, 2016. This device is hoped to revolutionize the power dynamics of Nigeria.
