Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the postgraduate programmes leading to the award of Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s degree and Doctor of Philosophy in the following Colleges:
– College of Science
– College of Engineering and Technology, and
– College of Computing
A. Admission Requirements
1. College of Science and College of Computing
i. A candidate for postgraduate studies in the College of Science and College of Computing of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, must have obtained, at least, five (5) credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, and any other three relevant science subjects at the West African School Certificate, National Examination Council, General Certificate Examination, and National Board for Technical Education (Ordinary level).
ii. Candidates applying for PGD programme must possess a minimum of Third Class (Hons) in first degree or Upper Credit at the HND.
iii. Candidates for Master’s degree programme must be graduates of any recognized university with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) in the relevant field. However, candidates applying to Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology are required to have, at least , a minimum of 3.00 CGPA in Environmental Management and Toxicology or Physical and Life Sciences from recognized universities.
iv. Candidates applying for Ph. D in any programme must have obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.50 or a weighted average score of 60% in the Master’s degree.
2. College of Engineering and Technology
i. Candidates applying for the PGD programme must have obtained a minimum of a Third Class (Hons) degree or Upper Credit at the HND. However, holders of Lower Credit at the HND with a minimum of five (5) years post-qualification relevant experience may be considered.
ii. Candidates for the Master’s degree programme must be graduates of any recognised university with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) in the relevant field.
iii. Candidates applying for Ph.D in any programme must have obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.50 or a weighted average score of 60% in the Master’s degree.
B. General Requirements
i. Possession of the NYSC discharged/exemption or exclusion certificate is mandatory.
ii. Candidates are expected to request their academic transcript from their former institutions and forward the same to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, through the email address pg.secretary@fupre.edu.ng, not later than 6 weeks from the date of this publication.
iii. Applications of candidates whose transcripts are not forwarded to the School within the stipulated period shall not be processed.
iv. Candidates should print out the referee forms provided on the application page and request their referees to forward duly completed copies to the “Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies” through the email address pg.secretary@fupre.edu.ng, failing which the applications shall not be processed.

D. Method of Application
