Library Divisions

The Public Services Division (PSD) comprises all the units that relate directly with the public (users). Library units under this Division include: Circulation unit, Reference unit, Serials Unit and E-Library. These units houses most of the information sources users access for their learning, teaching and research. The PSD is the ‘face of the library’ and can be referred to as the ‘public relations division’ because most library users visit the division daily for their information needs than any other. The librarians in the PSD interact regularly with the users who need access to materials or require registering with the library irrespective of their academic status, department and level of study. The services that are rendered at the PSD include: registration of users, responding to reference questions, research services, charging and discharging, and electronic information services among others.
