Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the postgraduate programmes leading to the award of Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s degree and Doctor of Philosophy in the College of Computing, College of Science and College of Engineering and Technology of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun.
A. Admission Requirements
1. College of Computing and College of Science
- A candidate for postgraduate studies in the College of Computing and College of Science of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, must have obtained at least five (5) credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, and any other three relevant science subjects at the West African School Certificate, National Examination Council, General Certificate Examination, and National Board for Technical Education (Ordinary level).
- Candidates applying for PGD programme must possess a minimum of Third Class (Hons) in first degree or Upper Credit at the HND.
- Candidates for Master’s degree programme must be graduates of any recognized university with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) in the relevant field.
- Candidates applying for Ph. D in any programme must have obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.50 or a weighted average score of 60% in the Master’s degree.
2. College of Engineering and Technology
- Candidates applying for PGD programme must have obtained a minimum of a Third Class (Hons) degree or Upper Credit at the HND. However, holders of Lower Credit at the HND with a minimum of five (5) years post-qualification relevant experience may be considered
- Candidates applying for Ph. D in any programme must have obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.50 or a weighted average score of 60% in the Master’s degree.
B. General Requirements
- Only candidates who have the NYSC discharged/exemption or exclusion certificate can be allowed to clear into the different courses.
- Candidates are expected to request for their transcript from their former institutions and forward same to the “Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, not later than 6 weeks from the date of this publication.
- Applications of candidates whose transcripts are not forwarded to the School before the stipulated period shall not be processed.
- Candidates should print out the referee forms provided on the application page, complete and return them to the “Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies”, failing which the applications shall not be processed.
